TheScore is one of the most trusted names in Canada for all things sports — broadcasts, highlights, news, commentary, and now, betting. That’s right, theScore Bet is the media company’s semi-new hot product. We say semi-new because it’s changed greatly since launching in 2019.

This is where things stand today. TheScore is trying to carve out its name in Canada’s own booming sports betting marketplace. So how does it fare? This is what we’re attempting to answer with this theScore Bet review.
States Where TheScore Bet Offers Legal Betting?
April 4, 2022 — the day sports betting became fully legal in the province of Ontario, Canada. This is major because Ontario has a population of around 14 million, in large part due to the city of Toronto. It’s not only the most populous province in Canada, but it represents close to 40 percent of the country’s total population. And due to Toronto, it’s also the most lucrative market at all.
We say this because theScore Bet operates in Ontario and Ontario only. As of late 2023, theScore Bet is not available in any other Canadian province, and like we said before, they exited the U.S. market too. The thing is theScore Ontario has competition from every major sportsbook operator also holding a license in the province. TheScore does have “home field advantage” per se. They’re based in Toronto and have been located there since the late ‘90s.
TheScore Bet is available for download all over Canada, however, bets can only be accepted if inside the state of Ontario. The app uses geotargeting technology to pin user’s exact location. Therefore, it simply won’t accept bets if beyond Ontario’s borders.
The legal limit to bet in Canada is 19 years old — much shorter than 21 in the United States. Bettors will need to verify their age and identity when signing up.
